Towards the salaries and core costs of a recycling programme which will develop employment and personal development opportunities for those with special needs and who are disadvantaged. Funded jointly by Social Development and Environment.

Towards the salary over two years of a Project Manager to improve the aspirations and educational attainment of African Caribbean boys at risk of social exclusion in Newham, London. Funded jointly by Social Development and Education.

Towards the salary over two years of a Project Manager to develop plans for the restoration of a Grade II* listed chapel for community use. Funded jointly by Arts & Heritage and Environment.

Towards the salary and costs of a Project Leader and costs of a pilot project for headteachers in the West Midlands that aims to reduce energy use and waste production in schools. Funded jointly by Education and Environment.

Helmsley Walled Garden - £20,000
Towards the capital costs of restoring the Victorian vinery and orchard glasshouses. Funded jointly by Arts & Heritage and Environment.

Impetus Trust - £125,000
Towards the core costs over three years of this new organisation, which applies a 'venture philanthropy' model to the funding of charities. Funded jointly by Arts & Heritage, Education, Environment and Social Development.

Razor Edge Theatre Initiative - £150,000
Towards the costs over three years of establishing the first degree course in theatre performance and workshop practice for students with learning difficulties. Funded jointly by Education and Social Development.

Skill - £80,000
Towards the salary and costs over three years of a Policy Officer to work on breaking down barriers facing disabled people in accessing further and higher education. Funded jointly by Social Development and Education.

The International Longevity Centre - £75,000
