An initiative to test ways of enhancing the teaching of music in primary schools.

In addition to the strategic initiatives the Foundation also runs an ongoing partnership with The Sutton Trust to support a limited number of projects that increase access to higher education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Towards identifying the services and support which have successfully addressed the key issues during pregnancy and the first year of life in other countries, and the implications for policy and practice in the UK.

Chelmsford Girls' Grammar School - £15,705
Towards establishing a 'first in the family' project working with Chelmsford Girls' Grammar School and other local state schools in the area.

UK Biodiversity Programme

An initiative worth £1.2 million over two rounds to support the recovery of threatened UK species that are no benefiting from other funding sources.

Towards the costs of restoring a network of semi-natural grasslands in the Culm region of Cornwall and Devon and ensuring the long-term survival of its rich biodiversity.

Towards the costs of a project to initiate measures for the sustainable management of the UK's soft rock cliff invertebrate biodiversity.

Towards the costs of a project to investigate some of the most damaging marine alien species in UK waters.
